Trader Joe's Pumpkin Bagel & Pumpkin Cream Cheese Review

Guys!! I was so excited about this next combo. When I was at Trader Joe’s last night, I asked one of the employees what their favorite seasonal items were. They replied excitedly with…..pumpkin bagels smothered in TJ’s pumpkin cream cheese. This sounded like an absolute autumn dream. With that being said...I’m sorry sweet TJ’s employee but this just did not work for me.

DISCLAIMER: ALL OPINIONS ARE MY OWN AND ARE NO WAY AFFILIATED WITH TRADER JOE’S IN ANY WAY. I APOLOGIZE IF YOU LOVE AN ITEM AND I DON’T. THIS POST IS NOT SPONSORED (I WISH THOUGH).

Pumpkin Bagels $2.49 for 6 Bagels

First impressions:

The packaging for these bagels boasts that they are packed with flavor from pumpkin flour and pumpkin pie spice bits. I would have to disagree with this description. The texture of these bagels was just straight-up weird. They were hard, dense, and doughy all at the same time. The flavor itself was really bland and did not taste like pumpkin pie at all, even when I took a bite that had the so-called flavor bits in it.

With pumpkin cream cheese spread:

Even when I added the pumpkin cream cheese on top, something just tasted off. The cinnamon in the spread helped sweeten the bagel a little bit, but I just couldn’t get over the texture.

Final thoughts: 1/5

I’m sorry if you like these, but they were not for me. The only plus side to these is that the bagels are vegan. Trader Joe’s, I’m disappointed in this product. I do not recommend picking these up unless dense and doughy bagels are your thing, then by all means get them.

Pumpkin Cream Cheese Spread $2.99 for 8 oz

First impressions:

I wanted to love this cream cheese so badly, but it sadly fell flat. I loved the packaging, and when I first peeled back the foil, the spread smelled pretty good. It was not overpowering with pumpkin and had a nice blend of spices like nutmeg and cinnamon. I took a tiny scoop by itself and then I put some atop the pumpkin bagel (and we all know how that went).

Final Thoughts: 2/5

The cream cheese on its own wasn’t terrible, but the spread almost had an almost sour taste. I love cream cheese, and I usually love to smother regular cream on my bagel. For my review of today’s seasonal items, I made sure not to do this. I wanted to taste all the flavors they had to offer. I was a little less disappointed with the pumpkin cream cheese spread than with the bagels. Still not a fan. I think the cream cheese would be better if it was whipped. It just felt too thick with the already dense pumpkin bagel.

I am so sorry if you love Pumpkin Bagels from Trader Joe’s, but these are my honest opinions. I promise to always be 100% real with you.

Will you be picking up the bagels to try yourself? Have you tried these yet, if so what are your thoughts?

Until next time (Dear god, I hope the next thing I try is better)

xoxo
